I already have a certificate, but does ERC recognise it?
To convert your certificate to an ERC certificate, please contact support@erc.edu.
1. Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK)
All RCUK certificates are automatically recognised as equivalent to ERC certificates.
2. American Heart Association (AHA)
Provider certificates: These are recognised as equivalent to ERC certificates.
Instructor qualifications: As teaching methods differ, AHA Full Instructor (FI) certificates are converted to Instructor Potential (IP).
To become an ERC instructor, you will need to complete:
a BIC course for Basic course types, or
a GIC course for Advanced course types.
Course Director (CD) qualifications: To convert an AHA CD certificate of any course type to an ERC CD certificate (CDC), you must complete an ERC GIC course.
Transition courses
The transition course is designed for countries introducing ERC courses for the first time. It helps convert instructors trained by other organisations and focuses on ERC educational principles.
The course is delivered by senior Instructor Trainers (IT) appointed by the SEC and DC-Edu Chair.
