1. Who can become a Course Centre (CC)?

Any organisation or individual  with a valid VAT number may apply for Course Centre (CC) permission, provided they meet the requirements set out in the ERC Course Rules.

The decision-making authority depends on the country:

  • In countries with a self-sufficient NRC, the decision is made by the NRC.

  • In countries with a non-self-sufficient NRC, the decision is made by the relevant SEC Co-chair(s) in cooperation with the NRC.

  • In countries without an NRC, the decision is made by the SEC Co-chair.


2. What are the requirements to become a Course Centre (CC)?

To obtain and maintain CC permission, the applicant must:

  • Have a valid VAT number

  • Provide a sufficient number of qualified instructors to run ERC courses.

  • Provide suitable infrastructure and equipment.

  • Comply with the ERC Course Rules.

  • Grant access to course materials for participants and instructors.

  • Accept ERC and/or NRC quality management measures.

  • Organise at least 2 courses per year.

  • Keep detailed participant results for the validity period of qualification (maximum 3 years).

  • Register courses in advance and provide complete and correct data.

  • Send course information to participants and instructors in a timely manner.

  • Generate ERC certificates and letters of attendance via CoSy.

  • Manage financial obligations properly, including:

    • Reimbursing instructors’ expenses on time.

    • Settling ERC and NRC invoices by due dates.

  • Inform participants about the possibility of purchasing printed manuals at printing and shipping cost.

  • Organise necessary catering.

  • Encourage participants to complete ERC online evaluations and act on feedback.

  • Accept ICs and CDCs (where possible) as faculty members free of charge.

  • Ensure faculty members are indemnified for civil liability.

  • Comply with the ERC Data Protection Policy and GDPR requirements.

  • Accept and receive relevant ERC/NRC communications (unsubscribing automatically terminates CC permission).


3. How long is CC permission valid?

CC permission is granted for 3 years.
At the end of this period, the CC will be evaluated by: The Self-Sufficient NRC, or the relevant SEC Co-chair.

Renewal depends on compliance and performance.
Permission may be withdrawn in cases of:

  • Severe violations.
  • Repeated failure to improve after recommendations.


4. How can an organisation apply for CC permission?

Applications must be made in writing to coursecentre@erc.edu 

  • The necessary documents to fill in, will be sent to you

The decision is taken by:

  • The Self-Sufficient NRC, or the SEC-co Chair for that course type (where applicable).


5. With whom does the CC collaborate?

The Course Organiser liaises with:

  • The Course Director

  • The NRC

  • The ERC Office
